THE BROOKLYN NAVY YARD
The Brooklyn Navy Yard, built in 1801, is now an enclave of dynamic economic development. Forty buildings, 275 tenants, 6,000 workers. “We are witnessing the emergence, the re-emergence, of the new roots of 21st century manufacturing,” said BLS Professor Jonathan Askin.
New York Magazine’s 2012 year-end double issue included 74 “Reasons to Love New York.” Their number one reason? The Barclays Center, a new arena and entertainment complex. Jeff Gewirtz, ’94, Executive VP of Business Affairs and Chief Legal Officer for the Brooklyn Nets and Barclays Center, oversees the arena and the team’s legal affairs.

PRACTICING TO WIN
Our Moot Court Honor Society is one of the most distinguished and accomplished moot court programs in the country. Students in the Trial Advocacy Division and the Appellate Advocacy Division compete in over 30 competitions across the United States and overseas annually. These competitions span many areas of the law, from family law to criminal procedure to constitutional law to international law. Year after year, Brooklyn Law School students win awards and competitions. Over the last 15 years, our teams have won 26 national championships and 54 other first prizes.
